THE

CENTENNIAL

HOUSE

A HOME FOR THE AGES

Originally built in 1915, The Centennial House has been a fixture in Santa Barbara’s coveted Upper East neighborhood for over a century. Cared for by many families over the years, it was an extremely well-built and well-maintained house that was in dire need of some updates. Over the course of 18 months, it was given new life by the Hearth Homes Team, and is now ready for its next steward.

One of the Most Desirable Neighborhoods in Santa Barbara Just Got More Desirable

Santa Barbara's Upper East neighborhood is iconic due to its history as one of the first districts to be built up surrounding the Old Mission Santa Barbara. An eclectic treasure trove of gorgeous homes, manicured landscaping and quiet lanes, the Upper East is arguably the most prestigious neighborhood in all of Santa Barbara. Just two doors down from the former home of Pearl Chase - a Santa Barbara Historic Landmark - "The Centennial House" was originally built on Anacapa Street in 1915. Its Spanish Colonial Revival architecture is quintessential Santa Barbara, yet it was obscured by years of wear and tear. After undergoing a complete remodel over the past 18 months, however, The Centennial House is once again ready to shine among the other stars of the beautiful Upper East.

Finishing Touches That Make a House a Home

Details are what really bring a home to life, and The Centennial House is brimming with them. Hand painted Fireclay Tiles accent the fireplace & tie into the front staircase, while herringbone patterned brickwork brings an old-world feel to this 100-year old home. Refinished original Oak floors, oversized, hardwood baseboards & door casings and refurbished original doors and windows harken back to the old ways.
